In 2019 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Porsche released their first series production electric car, the Taycan. Strongly influenced by the Mission E concept car which preceded it 4 years earlier, The Taycan opened a new chapter for Porsche as a sports and electric vehicle manufacturer.

As the flagship model of the Taycan line up, the Turbo S had the responsibility of showcasing how Porsche’s technical knowhow and expertise was capable of creating an electric car which was not only fast, but also fun.

Powered by dual electric motors (one on each axle), the car produced 751hp and a tarmac splitting 1,050Nm of torque. This allowed the 2.2 tonne super saloon to catapult from 0 to 62mph in just 2.8 seconds. However, it is not just the Taycan’s ability in a straight line which leaves it passengers spell bound.  Thanks to its clever battery placement, Porsche have managed to keep a low centre of gravity in the car which in turn means minimal body roll combined with quintessential Porsche chassis design resulting in a car that is equally as capable through the corners as it is in a straight line.
