In August 2015 at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in Monterey California, BMW launched their latest track focused M car concept, the M4 GTS. 2 years later, a limited production run of 700 cars globally was confirmed.

Utilising the same design philosophy as the previous generation E92 M3 GTS, the focus of the F82 M4 GTS was very much on more power, less weight and sharper driving dynamics. Making use of the same S55 M-power 3 litre twin turbo straight 6 engine, the M4 GTS gained a water injection system situated in the boot of the car which sprayed a fine mist directly into the air chamber thus reducing intake pressures and allowing BMW to increase turbo boost. The result was 68bhp and 36lb ft torque more than the standard M4.

In addition, the car was fitted with 3-way adjustable coilovers, M Carbon Ceramic brakes, thicker ant-roll bars, heavily revised adjustable aero, sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s, a titanium exhaust system, the removal or sound deadening and optional carbon compound wheels which reduce unsprung weight by around 7kgs.

The end result was a scintillating track car capable of lapping the Nürburgring 24 seconds faster than its predessor the M3 GTS and on par with the mighty Porsche Carrera GT.

The 700 unit production run was available in 4 distinct colours of Sapphire Black, Frozen Dark Grey, Mineral Grey and Alpine White III (albeit Mineral Grey was never made an option in the UK). With only 30 cars being supplied to the UK market at a cost of £120,500 inc VAT without the optional carbon compound wheels, the M4 GTS is a rare sitting on UK roads indeed.

First registered in September 2016, this stunning BMW F82 M4 GTS is 1 of 30 UK supplied cars out of the 700 units built globally. Finished in the iconic BMW shade of Sapphire Black with contrasting Acid Orange accents, it is reportedly the rarest of shades built globally.
