In the mid 90s, a joint venture of Audi and Porsche engineers came together to create the Audi RS2, the world’s first high performance estate car. Based on an Audi 80 Avant, the chassis and engine were heavily re-engineered including Porsche suspension and brake components as well as larger turbo, intercooler, injectors and modified camshaft. The resulting car pioneered a new age of automotive design with customers no longer having to compromise between performance and practicality.
At the Geneva motorshow in 2012, Audi revealed the latest successor to their RS2; The Audi B8 RS4 Avant. Utilising their magnificent naturally aspirated 4.2L V8 engine coupled to the industry leading Quattro 4WD system and an extremely potent 7 speed S-tronic gearbox, the B8 RS4 was a beautiful evolution of the B7 car which preceded it and became an instant hit with customers and enthusiasts.
