Aston Martin V8 Vantage Coupe (2013/13)
SOLD
In 2003, Aston Martin first showcased the AMV8 Vantage concept car at the North American International Auto Show. The car, designed by Henrik Fisker, was an all-aluminium coupe created to inspire a shift away from the larger GT cars Aston were renowned for producing towards a more compact and nimble driver focused car.
The feedback from customers was hugely positive and in 2005, the official Aston Martin Vantage was launched at the Geneva Motorshow. Initially sporting a 4.3 litre V8, it was later replaced in 2008 with a larger 4.7 litre V8 engine. One of the great aspects of this engine setup was the utilisation of dry sump lubrication in a similar vein to most race cars which enabled Aston Martin to mount the engine lower in the chassis helping to improve the centre of gravity and with that, the cars handling dynamics. What’s more, with the front-mid engine layout of the car, it offered great 49/51 front/rear weight distribution.
The success of this car meant that through various models lines and engine options, the original Aston Martin Vantage stayed in production all the way through to 2018. It remains one of the truly iconic British sports cars of the modern era and an interesting investment proposition in both V8 and V12 guises.

INVESTMENT THESIS
This beautifully presented Tungsten Silver manual V8 Vantage has 1 owner from new and comes with full Aston Martin service history. 1st registered in May 2013, this highly specified car is one of the most impressive examples of the timeless Aston Martin Vantage we have yet to come across.
The car comes with a beautiful obsidian black leather interior and contrasting silver stitching which is complemented by the piano black facia trim. The comprehensive options list includes Dolby Pro-Logic II 700W premium sound system, heated and adjustable sports seats, front and rear parking sensors with rear reversing camera, 19” V Spoke alloy wheels, Bluetooth telephone prep, Satnav and Aston Martin tracker.
With Aston Martin deciding to shift away from utilising their own 4.7 litre V8 in favour of a Mercedes Benz common rail 4 litre twin turbo V8 in the new Vantage, our example is likely to be the last model Aston Martin produced with their own naturally aspirated V8 engine being utilised. In typical Aston fashion, the 4.7 litre V8 is a monumentally capable and usable engine with plenty of low end torque. However, when given the opportunity to stretch its legs, you get the insatiable growl that only a naturally aspirated V8 can muster as it charges forward towards the red line. The chassis combines the perfect balance of firm yet pliable. It is just as comfortable on a track as it is when being used for longer cross continent drives or in the city. This truly is a car capable of mastering every occasion.
From an investment perspective, the death of the large capacity, naturally aspirated engine coupled to a manual gearbox means that we will see valuations on Vantages begin to climb over the next couple of years. That said, the later 4.7 litre cars will continue to be the more desirable choice in the range. The opportunity to purchase a low mileage, high spec 1 owner car like our example provides the perfect opportunity for a collector who also wants to make the most out driving and using this incredible baby Aston Martin.
